Adult Individual Counseling: $90 for a 50 minute session.
I provide 50 minute EMDR sessions, but if they go over are charged accordingly.
Initial Counseling Appointment
I schedule the first session for 1 hr 20 minutes. The first half hour is free! If you wish to continue after the half hour, I will charge my standard rate. I have found that in this way you will have the opportunity to continue working with me immediately. This is preferable to just getting started telling your story and then having to schedule a follow-up appointment for the following week.
I take cash, check and Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards.
I do not take insurance, but am happy to provide you with an invoice that you can take to your insurance provider. There are three strong advantages to paying out of pocket for your therapy instead of going through an employer insurance program. The advantages are that:
- Therapist’s notes are not viewed by a third party payer.
- Diagnosis is not a primary focus for the sessions.
- Sessions cannot be limited by the third party payer.
The cost of counseling is often limits people from getting their life moving in a healthier and more productive direction. However, counseling can also make a huge difference in the course of your future. So, you may want to consider getting help with the financial aspect. I have listed some ideas for you below.
- Using low interest credit cards
- Obtaining a personal loan from a friend or family member
- Using savings or retirement funds
- Securing an asset loan or low from a bank
As an ACA counselor we are encouraged to provide a certain amount of low cost counseling slots every week. I hold two slots every week open for low income clients. Please ask me about these openings to see if you would qualify.
